Project: Land At Hersden, Canterbury
Milestone Transport Planning was thrilled to see that Canterbury City Council’s planning committee has granted planning permission. Pending the completion of a section 206 Agreement. This hybrid application includes the development of 261 dwellings and outline permission for a mixed-use scheme featuring up to 539 dwellings. Plans also include; 1 hectare for employment space, a 1.2-hectare extension for a primary school, a new community building, a sports pavilion, and 33 hectares of open space.
Situated within the River Stour catchment area, the project successfully demonstrated nutrient neutrality through the implementation of an on-site water recycling center and reed bed wetlands. This development represents a significant addition to Canterbury’s housing supply, addressing the current constraints in the Borough.
This resolution is a testament to the dedication of Persimmon Homes’ planning team, which includes DHA Planning Group, FPCR, Milestone Transport Planning Ltd, Marian Cameron Consultants Limited, GTA Civils & Transport, Southern Energy Consultants Ltd, SP Broadway, and Consult QRD Ltd.
We eagerly anticipate the completion of this development, as it promises to provide much-needed housing, commercial space, and community facilities for the area.
