Milestone South were instructed by Fairview New Homes to prepare a Transport Assessment, Framework Travel Plan and Delivery / Servicing Plan for a demolition of site and erection of 72 residential units providing a mix of apartments at 19 Yeoman Street in the London Borough of Lewisham.

Due to the site being highly constrained and added incorporation of landscaped amenity areas around the building, an agreement was reached with the Planning, Design and Highway’s Officers to design a ‘car-free’ development. The site had a ‘moderate’ level of accessibility to public transport services and an increase in person trips resulting from the proposals, this called for a detailed assessment of the existing pedestrian environment (i.e. PERS Audit) together with a parking ‘stress’ survey examining on-street capacity.

The Highway Officer was fully satisfied that the implementation of a Framework Travel Plan together with a financial contribution towards an existing car club scheme would discourage future households and occupiers of the commercial units to own/use a vehicle, thereby alleviating the potential for on-street parking. Another successful Milestone scheme!
